Move heartleaf philodendron plant to a brighter location, but not into direct sun which can scorch its leaves. It thrives under fluorescent light, too, making it an ideal office plant.
The soil surrounding the Philodendron scandens must be kept moist but not soggy. Problems can occur if the plant sets in water or if soil becomes excessively dry. Good drainage is crucial. Spray or wipe the leaves often with a damp cloth and freely water the plant during the growing season.
